Ride Safe is On Hold due to Covid 19 (June 2020). You can now take, the Challenge Awards Silver – Riding Out Safely. This cert will allow you access into the Stage 2 Ride Assessment.

Ride Safe exam is now the first exam in the BHS Pathways Program. This should be completed before you Stage 1. (Previously it was the Stage 2)

We have training organised (see flyer for dates)

 Training is with Catriona Monks Walsh BHSII Level 4 Senior Coach & Ridesafe Trainer.

The Training will covering all sections, for the Award & signing off the Ride Safe Book. N.B. Candidates for the Award must apply to the B.H.S. prior to booking this Training Day to receive the RS book.

Theory section– approx. 1 – 1 ½ hours

Practical section – approx. 1 ½ – 2 hours

To achieve the best benefit from the evening, candidates should read:

  • BHS Ride Safe Book.
  • The HSI/RSA Horse Road Safety publication
  • The Irish Rules of the Road

Our horses will be used from Balcultry, please wear appropriate yard and riding clothing.

Bookings will only be taken with payment of €30 per rider, a deposit, non refundable. Balance will be due the Friday, the week before the training date.
