Providing quality training for our clients is our passion. Creating a happy environment in which they can learn about horses, how to ride and look after them.
The welfare of our animals is always paramount!
Balcultry Stables is a family run business, based in the beautiful countryside of North Dublin, in Swords, Co. Dublin. The farm is run by Catriona and her family. She has had grown up with horses, on the family farm. Her dad Jack, was an avid horseman, whom bread and produced Point to Pointers. She has jumping up to the highest national levels, and has also help to produce her father’s Thoroughbreds. Furthering her education in Information systems in TCD, Equine Science in UL and has achieved her BHSII exams.
The Livery yard was established in 2000 and has prided itself on being a first class service offering full and part livery with excellent facilities. It is fully insured and approved by AIRE. Holding many training shows and clinics all year round. Riding Lessons, whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to the sport after a break or looking for advanced tuition in competition disciplines, Balcultry Stables has something for you. As well as group and private lessons the programme of activities includes pony camps, shows and evening courses. We have a very friendly team of staff who are always on hand for help and advice. We encourage all our staff members to progress through their BHS Stage exams. There is also an opportunity for clients and others to increase, their knowledge and understanding at our evening classes training for all BHS Stages.
About Me
Catriona is a BHS Stage 4 Performance coach, a Stage 5 Business Manager a HSI Level 1 Coach. She owns and manages Balcultry EC. Which is an Approved BHS and AIRE centre in Swords Co Dublin. It is also an BHS assessment centre.
Catriona has been to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as a Fence Judge, and live scorer for the Omega Team. Also, worked at the World Equestrian Games Championships in Patroni Italy 2022. Finalist in the Irish Equestrian Business Awards 2022 for Coaching, Livery and the Riding School Categories.
Areas that she specialises in are as follows.
• BHS Stage 1, 2, 3 and coaching for the BHS Assessments.
• BHS Ride Safe Trainer
• Irish Pony Club riders aiming for Tests.
She is an APC Coach specialising in performance coaching for riders with goals in mind, together putting plans together for horse and riders. Helping them grow confidently through the process as a partnership using the correct training methods. Can coach at Balcultry EC or as a freelance coach can travel to clients in Dublin and Meath.
